HFC needed a new homepage. The site received an overhaul not long after I joined the company, but as our profile began to rise from the Gatorade and Twitter projects, we were in need of a better way to tell our story.
It can be difficult for a busy, independent dev shop to find the time to focus on an internal project, especially one that would become our public face. (I was the third or fourth PM tapped to lead the project, and it had been on-and-off for a year prior). The challenge here wasn't dev or design talent – it was content. And time.
Fortunately, I had invested time in developing my personal site (this one) as a sort of dry run. What developed became representative of many of the company's marquee projects. I played only a minor role in coding the frontend.
